Westward Ho!

Coming from the North.

Exit the M5 at Junction 27 and take the 3rd exit towards Barnstaple

The North Devon Link, A361.

Continue along the A361 untill you get to the first roundabout at Barnstaple.

Take the first exit onto the A39.

Straight across the next 3 roundabouts.

At the 4th roundabout, take the 3rd Exit towards Northam, A386.

Now it starts to get fun................

Continue up the hill, down through a dip, and up another hill, past the right turn that takes you to Appledore.

At the top of the 2nd hill there is a turning to the right for Northam Burrows.

LOOK for the Brown Sign.

Turn Right onto Fore Street.

Follow this down to the shops, where you need to go straight on, but it's a right turn.

After turning right, follow the road that bears round to the left,

This is Sandymere Road.

Continue down Sandymere Road and this will bring you to the entrance of Northam Burrows.

There is usually a small charge for parking.

Drive along the access road to the car park.

We normally park at the end of the carpark on the far right.

Congratulations...... Your at The Ho!

Some rules for The Ho!

You MUST have 3rd party liability insurance to use traction at The Ho!

or any other kiting body.

The Lifegaurds have complained that the kite surfers are flying into the swimming zones far to often!
....THIS MUST STOP

It doesnt matter what wind direction it is, etc etc
NO WHERE IN THE UK ARE CAN YOU FLY INTO THE SWIMMING ZONES SO WHY IS IT EXCEPTABLE AT THE HO? ........ IT ISNT

Setting up or flying within the 100m banned zone by the ridge
....THIS MUST STOP.

NO FLYING IN THE CAR PARKS ON THE GRASS OR ON THE GOLF COURSE

NO SETTING UP YOUR KITES IN THE CAR PARKS! 


You cant just spill over the ridge and do what you like, there are rules set out by the council, you MUST walk 100m onto the beach....

If there isnt 100m of beach YOU SHOULD NOT BE FLYING!
